Blogging Simplified

Starting a blog and gaining viewers seems easy enough, right? Though the thought of it seems easy, there are a lot of things to consider before actually beginning your blogging journey, such as the kind of audience you are looking to attract to the security of your blog.

A few articles, such as How Blogging Can Help You Grow Your Professional Network, 17 Blogging Tips for Beginners (That Actually Work), and How to Promote Your Blog in 2021: The Complete Beginner's Guide, are good articles to help you understand everything that goes behind making a good blog.

Promoting Your Blog

First and foremost, let’s talk about how to promote your blogs. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned blogger, knowing the basics of how to direct traffic to your blogs is important. According to David Hartshorne’s blog How To Promote Your Blog In 2021: The Complete Beginner’s Guide the most important thing is to choose the appropriate platform. This means that the site you choose to upload your blogs on must include: faster loading speeds, substantial security, simple navigation, and easily accessible in terms of finding your blog on google.

            Social Media

Next is visibility, but what is visibility? According to Gazelle Interactive; it is the "establishment of online presence, public recognition and favorable reputation of a particular company's name and brand". This is particularly important in terms of outreach. The internet is currently the crux of gossip and learning. Want to know how to start a business? There are articles, videos, and many blogs out there to help you start your new venture. Social media is a place to discuss your interest and find the people to learn about or learn from. In this blog, social media holds a space for making connections with people who could help you grow and even enrich those who believe in what you have to offer. Establishing visibility is important in getting your word out and this is where you can get some of your viewers. Through effective communication, it can result in positive growth for your work.

            Niche

As said in Si Quan Ong's blog 17 Blogging Tips for Beginners (That Actually Work), niches are helpful in getting you to become visible on top of being able to effectively market and communicate on social media. In the case of blogging, target a certain audience by researching more about the topic you want to talk about. Gear all of your earlier blogs towards this subject in order to gain viewers as a go-to person. From this, you can branch out to other subjects that you would like to cover or even stick to this niche you have started in because of your researched expertise in this field.

          Authenticity

Mike Fishbein from Lifehack wrote in their blog the importance of staying true to ones character even behind a computer, inclusive of the blogging universe. Blogging is a way of building relationships out in the professional world. According to David Hartshorne from bloggingwizard, speaking to your audience through your blog almost in a conversational way gives them some insight to who you are. Letting your personality show through your writing could act as another layer of connection between writer and reader.

        Final Thoughts

I'm just a beginner doing research myself, so in writing this blog I hope to help YOU find a place to start. These are the tips that I found, but by all means, reach out and research on your own starting with what sparks your interest.

  1. Hi Anna your first blog is great! While reading through you went straight to the point and gave good explanations for each topic. I also really like the bright pictures you chose. And you didn't do too many embedded links which is good. Keep it up!
